I am so sorry to hear about Cooper and his accident, but I am so glad to know that he is recovering. I do know how our pets affect our lives and I can certainly understand that Sara had to take a backseat this time.
You're not going to believe this... I had to miss Sara's concert! I took my dog to the dog park today and he was attacked by two Great Pyrenees . I had to rush him to the vet and now I'm nursing the poor guy. He had been attacked when he was a puppy and was ripped open. So when a dog starts getting aggressive with him (especially in the section of the body where he was previously attacked, he understandably gets upset. When he turned and barked at one of the Great Pyrenees the dog went at Cooper (my dog) and the other Pyrenees jumped my dog from behind and sunk his teeth into my dog's back while the first dog grabbed Cooper by the neck. By the time I got the owners off their butts to get their dogs off of Cooper, he was bitten in the neck as well as the back. I had to rush him to the vet and he's on medication now. So not only was I too upset to go anywhere, I need to be with my dog now as he's in pain and needs some pampering. He'll be fine, but it's the second time he's been attacked although the first time (before I adopted him) was a vicious attack that left him near death. Only fast action by his previous owner saved his life. I just hope this second event doesn't make him aggressive with other dogs. One of the things I love about Cooper is how playful he is with ALL dogs, and people. I don't want him to lose that playfulness or faith in other dogs. Anyway, sorry to ramble, but I had to cancel my plans to see Sara. Maybe I can catch her concert tomorrow night, but it would have been so nice to have seen her in this small, intimate venue. I guess it wasn't meant to be this time, but Cooper needed me and I will always be there for him at times like this. Sara, if you read this, I hope you understand... this dog is all the family I have here in Florida. And Barb? I hope to be able to say someday soon that I USED to live in Florida too.

About Me:
I've worn lots of hats in my life, but the ones that fit most comfortably are writer and photographer. I've also been editor of two magazines and have written for national publications. Politically, I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I''m a conservative who sees issues from outside the box and by that I mean I try to see what truth there is on EACH side of an issue, for each side usually has SOME truth to it.
I have a SUPER dog named COOPER! I hope I can share a little of HIS wisdom with you from time to time. But don't get carried away. He's not as smart as he thinks he is: I can still beat him 2 games out of three at chess!
View and sample all of Sara's albums on her Music page. Then, head over to Sara's store to purchase albums, teeshirts, baby shower gift sets, and lots more!
